A view from the boat on the (Shroppy)  Shropshire Union Canal

Moored at Marple

This boat was built by Bourne Boat builders, Penkridge

Bourne Boat builders had three boats at the Crick boat show in 2017 and one of them won 1st prize for the best in show.  The other two won 2nd and 3rd

You can see from this that they're clearly passionate boat builders

This is a two berth boat and could easily be converted to a four berth by adding a sofa bed

We called the Boat

Still Thinking

The name came from us being asked what we were going to call it and each time we said that we were Still Thinking

Hello

If you're looking at this page you must be interested in my 57 foot narrowboat called Still Thinking

This boat was built in 2015 by Bourne Boat builders.

It has a Beta 38 horse power deisel engine with less than 1600 hours running time

There's a 3 Kw Victron inverter to provide 240 volt power to the boat  via 4 Victron leisure batteries (fitted July 2019)

The boat has been done in the popular reverse style layout.

The boat is double glazed throughout and has lots of 12 volt led lighting throughout.

Kitchen includes

4 burner stove with a separate grill and decent size oven

A 3 star 12 volt fridge/freezer

Beko washing machine

Microwave oven

A range of cupboards including wall cupboards and floor units

Storage in the drawers in the steps into the

boat

There's loads of storage on this boat

The dining area raised to allow you to easily see outside whilst eating.   This also give extra storage area under the foot platform that it stands on   There's storage under the seat and behind the seat.

There are very useful bookshelves behind the dining seat

The living area has a multi fuel stove that feeds the radiators on the shower room and the bedroom

Included on the sale are two swivel easy chairs, bought in 2018

The 28 inch TV is included as is the satellite system that'll record one programe while you watch another

Above the TV is yet more storage in the shape of a built in cupboard

The ever popular walk through shower room includes an excellent shower cubicle with sliding doors The shower provides loads of water for a fabulous shower

The wash basin is in it's own vanity unit with cupboards below

The toilet is one of Thetfords top of the range ceramic bowl cassette toilets. The toilet is plumbed into the water supply. There're three cassettes (the reason we went for a cassette toilet is because if we were 'frozen in' we could always go and

empty a cassette.  If we'd gone for the pump-out system and your frozen in you end up in a tricky situation)

The double bedroom has two wardrobes, shelving, radiator, under stair drawers (more storage) and of course, the bed.  There are reading lights above both sides of the bed.  The bed is a crossway's bed meaning that you can exit the bed from either side, and again there's storage underneath

The front of the boat is accessed from the bedroom and there's room to sit out there with a beer as your partner cruises along the canal.

There's a gas bottle locker in the front that has two Calor gas bottles with an easy switch to switch from an empty bottle to a full one, meaning that you should never find yourself running out of gas.  There's also room in the locker for the water hose and spare fenders etc,

The water fill-up is in the front as well. The water tank is a 350 ltr stainless steel tank that runs under the forepeak

There's a two way light switch system for the kitchen, lounge and shower room.  The fire provides loads of heat and we were never cold regardless of what the weather threw at us  (we lived on the boat for three years and even when the canal froze over, we remained warm, so warm in fact that we could have the window open)
